Award-winning realtor loves her clients and the CSRA

For over 40 years, Ann Marie McManus has studied real estate homes and prices in Augusta, GA. Apprenticing under the training of her father who had been in the real estate profession for most of his career, McManus began her love for the city back in the 70’s.

“My father gave me a deep love for Augusta,” said McManus. “Working with him, I was able to see the whole economic spectrum.”

Just like her father did with her years prior, McManus finds it a privilege to introduce her beautiful city.

“It’s a privilege to help people meet Augusta for the first time”, McManus explained.  “I will have butterflies when I pick them up.”

McManus has used this love for the city and the people of the city to create a successful career in the real estate profession. She knows what is required to take care of her clients.

“Experience matters,” exclaimed McManus. “The example of a true professional is that they are handling it and not including you in the drama.”

The level of customer service that McManus and her team provide has created a rewarding career of helping families through life’s phases.

McManus recalls an inspiring story of a certain couple who are at retirement age, with their children grown and out of the house. They had made the decision to move to a more conducive location for their current lifestyle in a retirement community. McManus found it a privilege, “To see that they had made the change, that they had gone through the whole process, and that they were free to do fun things.”

McManus has been able to do a lot of good for the residents of Augusta and for many non-profits around the area to give back to the city that she loves so much. These efforts have impacted many.

“Getting that Good Neighbor Award has eclipsed all the other professional things that I have gotten over the years,” said McManus. McManus’s peers at the Greater Augusta Association of Realtors nominated her for the award. The Good Neighbor Award honors the extraordinary impact on their community or on the national or world stage through volunteer work.

For McManus, it is rewarding to give back to the city she loves. To pass along her experience and love for the real estate industry to the next generation of realtors, McManus has written a book to highlight her proven methods to success.

McManus explains that the book is, “the process that we take every seller through.” Called, “Love Your Home: My proven system for selling homes at the top price.” She explains, “that there is a certain way that it needs to go for you to get top dollar for your house [which she has included in the book].”

With such a successful career in real estate, it is rewarding to be able to map out the accomplishments leading up to her 50th Anniversary.

“Celebrating 40 years is big and I get to look back at all the things I have learned,” explained McManus. “To think about where I will be at in year 50,” she envisions, “I would hope that I will still be doing what I love and not be doing a lot of things that are not my unique ability, but I know the industry that people will always need good advice. I have certainly learned where the missteps are and I look forward to doing that and celebrating 50 years in business.”
