Business conflict? Mediation may be the answer

One thing you can bet on as a business owner is challenge, whether from clients, employees, vendors, or business partners. Those disagreements may result from attendance, pay, benefits, or personality conflicts.

There are two seminars coming up that might provide some answers that are affordable and not as messy and expensive as the legal route. This Thursday, March 14, the North Augusta Chamber hosts a virtual seminar, Small Business Mediation: What every business owner needs to know. Two weeks later, on March 28, the Augusta Metro Chamber will present the version in person. Both sessions will be presented by Tekay Brown-Taylor, owner of Brownstone Mediation Services (BMS).

“In a nutshell, I started BMS after personally being impacted by a corporate restructuring. The options presented did not fit my life or the vision for my career and thus, my company was born out of a sense of urgency,” Brown-Taylor explained.

She also knows that resources for small businesses are often limited, and Human Resources (HR) and mediation services may not be top priorities.

“The seminars I will be conducting will help businesses better understand conflict resolution and how to navigate those challenges. We will also discuss the importance of an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) clause in contracts and how that can save you time and money.”

Brown-Taylor’s goal is to help business owners learn to safeguard their interests and avoid mismanagement of relationships not only with employees, but clients as well.

Seating is limited for both presentations. To register for the March 14 virtual presentation, here is the link: https://BMShr_SmallBusinessMediationVIRTUAL.eventbrite.com

The March 28 seminar will be held in person at the Augusta Metro Chamber. This is the registration link: https://BMShr_SmallBusinessMediation.eventbrite.com
