Business is booming in North Augusta and now, a new neighborhood has opened that should ensure there will be families to patronize those establishments.
The neighborhood, developed by Ivey Homes, will have approximately 170 dwellings. Single-family homes range from 1,490 to just over 2,900 square feet. They offer two to six bedrooms and two to four bathrooms. Prices range from $271,000 to $400,000.
There will also be townhomes, offering two to three bedrooms. Sizes range from just under 1,200 up to 1,490 square feet and two and a half bathrooms. Prices for the townhomes start at $211,000.
Ivey Construction began in 1984 and over the years has expanded to include multi-family and commercial construction projects. The latest is the Forrest Bluff development.
According to an announcement from the North Augusta Chamber, “Forrest Bluff will offer budget-minded townhomes and single-family floor plans with the most up-to-date designs and opportunities for home buyers to personalize a unique home for each person or family.
Forrest Bluff amenities will include sidewalks, pocket parks, and green spaces to enhance the area’s already mature landscape.”
This is the latest opening the North Augusta Chamber has celebrated, but the first welcoming a new neighborhood into the city. Previous events were to welcome new or expanded business locations.
One of the first was the new Chick-fil-A on Edgefield Road at Exit 5 off Interstate 20. It is owned by Jon Dawkins who also owns the Chick-fil-A on Knox Avenue.
Since then, North Augusta has welcomed the Feed Sack restaurant, also on Edgefield Road near I-20. It is owned by Greg and Angie Pierce, who also own the location in Aiken.
Also new is Bistro 55, a restaurant offering French cuisine on Railroad Avenue in Hammonds Ferry.
The most recent opening was for the Realtors of Greater Augusta. The organization now has an office at 510 W. Martintown Road.
On the horizon is the planned opening of a new, upscale hotel. A ribbon cutting is set for March 5 to officially welcome the Tru-by-Hilton. It is on Austin Graybill Road beside the ER at Sweetwater, the freestanding emergency medical facility operated by Aiken Regional Hospital.
