Partridge Inn renovations combine original style with modern conveniences

The historic Partridge Inn originally opened in 1910, so naturally, it has undergone numerous renovations over the last 112 years. But after the 140-room Curio Collection by Hilton Hotel was renovated in 2015 and 2016, some guests complained it was beginning to look a little too modern, according to Holly White.

White, who became the Partridge Inn’s General Manager in December, said the latest renovations, which have cost about $10 million so far, corrected that. To complete the project, the hotel, located at 2110 Walton Way, was closed from mid-September 2021 until the week before the Masters.

“We really wanted to make sure there was a nod to its history,” she said. “The inside didn’t match the outside.”

White said the project included replacing modern furniture with vintage pieces, increasing the seating capacity of the second-floor bar, and incorporating popular colors from the early 20th century, such as darker shades of blue.

The 8595 Restaurant and Bar on the second floor was also renovated, and changes are still underway on the Six South Rooftop Bar.

“There was a lot of attention to detail,” she said.

While the renovations were primarily focused on making the Partridge Inn look more like it did in its early days, the guest rooms were updated with modern conveniences, according to Madalyn Neal, the hotel’s Director of Sales and Marketing.

“We’ve added hospitality stations and replaced our Keurig coffee makers with Nespresso machines,” Neal said. “We’ve also added steamers instead of irons.”

The hotel was fully booked for Masters Week, which allowed White and her staff to showcase its updated look.

Neal said the hotel has 13 room types, including single occupancy, double occupancy, and suites, but no two rooms look the same.

White said so far, guests have been impressed with the renovations.

“Everybody I’ve spoken to absolutely loves it,” she said.

  1. But will they be bringing back the quintessential lunches – buffet and menu items both. What a great place that used to be for business lunches or social lunch meetings and with such good food.
