Local development firm buys Aiken shopping center

An Aiken shopping center has been sold to a new owner for $1.25 million. Cornerstone Town Center – located at 126 Dominion Drive off Whiskey Road, was recently bought by DB Development Partners LLC. The 9,000-square-foot development, which is fully leased, has seven tenants including Hollow Creek Animal Hospital, a pediatric physical therapy clinic, and Aiken Christian Church. “The growth in the south Aiken area is continuous,” says one of the co-owners of DB Development, who asked us not to use his name. “It’s in a nice location.” The development

CSRA golf course to reopen with new name and owner

An 18-hole public golf course that’s been closed since August will soon reopen in the small town of Bamberg. Bamberg Golf & Sports Club (see photo above), located at 128 Paw Paw Road, officially closed on Saturday, Aug. 14. Built in 1981, the 135-acre course was developed by renowned architect, Russell Breeden. Bamberg Golf, which was previously called the Paw Paw Country Club, has been sold to a new owner according to Meybohm Commercial Properties. The course will also have a new name: River Burch Golf Club.
