Two family-founded companies are coming together to grow business in the CSRA and Columbia, South Carolina.
KAMO Facility Solutions & Supplies, a family-owned distributor of janitorial supplies and equipment, founded in 1947 and based in downtown Augusta, just acquired Waper, Inc., a family-owned company founded in 1973 and based in Columbia, S.C.
This will be KAMO’s second Columbia office. KAMO’s headquarters are at 1326 Reynolds Street in Augusta.
As part of the transition, Waper will continue operating as “Waper — A KAMO Company,” ensuring continuity for customers, employees, and partners while gaining access to expanded resources and capabilities.
“Waper has been part of this community for more than 50 years, and that legacy matters,” said Harris Weinstein (far right), President of KAMO. “We are honored to welcome Waper into the KAMO family and approach this partnership with humility, care, and genuine excitement. Our focus is on continuity—the same people, the same relationships, and the same commitment to service—now supported by a stronger regional network.”
Weinstein says there will be no staff reductions, and Waper’s executive team will continue to operate the business.
KAMO Manufacturing Company was established in 1947 and is now in its third generation of family leadership. The second generation was led by Harris Weinstein’s father, Jack (3rd from left).
The company has recently expanded its footprint with an office in Columbia, further strengthening its regional presence.
“This partnership strengthens both organizations while honoring what makes Waper special,” added Harris Weinstein. “Together, we are better positioned to serve customers across healthcare, industrial, commercial, government, education, and food service sectors for years to come.”
