Born in Aiken, South Carolina, as the only son to a single mother of three children, Tim Behling developed an unwavering commitment to leadership and impacting the lives of others through positive engagement. His dream, from the age of 13, has always been to live a life that touched more lives than just his own.
He will do that tomorrow, April 17, as the keynote speaker for the Aiken Technical College annual Awards Night Ceremony. Behling graduated in 2015 from ATC, so this marks his tenth anniversary of that event in his life and much more.
“I’m honored to be the keynote speaker. ATC changed my life. I originally went for a business management certificate but ended up graduating and forming a nonprofit to help others accomplish their dreams,” Behling explained.
He founded Successteam, a nonprofit organization specializing in educational youth development, inspiring the next generation of leaders throughout the middle school and high school ranks. The focus is on leadership training, college readiness, and workforce development. To date, the organization has served more than 12,000 students from around South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina through its various initiatives.
“When you are in middle school and high school, sometimes you are just trying to figure it all out. Structure and stability are important, and so is following your passion. Sometimes it’s about solving a problem or something that has your heart,” said Behling.
ATC’s Awards Night Ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow, April 17, at 6:30 p.m. The event will be held in the Student Activities Center (Building B) gymnasium.
The annual Awards Night Ceremony honors students for their academic achievements, service efforts, and leadership roles. The ATC Foundation will also announce the scholarship award recipients for the 2025-2026 academic year.
For students and guests, Behling may help answer the question, “What do I do next?”
