Local cyber students score big in statewide competition

Middle and high school students who attended a camp sponsored by the CSRA Alliance for Fort Gordon scored top statewide honors. The students are participating in the 2025-2026 CyberPatriot competition. A successful grad from the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts is adding onto her Evans brick-and-mortar bakery and her longtime location at the Augusta Market. Arie’s Artisan Cheesecake shop is moving into the former Dirty Dough cookie spot off Walton Way Extension near Wheeler Road in West Augusta. A big part of Arielle Page’s business is event catering, corporate gifts, and selling wholesale to restaurants, hotels, and coffee shops. Busy year on tap for a Chamber of Commerce in Metro Augusta

The Chamber of Commerce that works with businesses in all 13 CSRA counties in Georgia, stretching from Wilkes to Jenkins to Hancock, is preparing for a busy year. Melty’s is now open each day at 10:30 in the Aiken Towne Park near Whiskey Road. Updating a visitor’s destination on the Savannah River

The downtown Augusta hotel that overlooks the Savannah River has started an interior renovation project, and Augusta Business Daily has several photos of where some of the work will be done. This marks the first large-scale upgrade since it became the Augusta Marriott Hotel & Suites in Jan. 2006. Renovations in progress for familiar downtown Augusta hotel

A Charleston developer can take inspiration from hotels like the Rand Tower Hotel in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This Thursday public meeting to chart Columbia County’s future

The public will have a chance later this week to weigh in on Columbia County’s vision for the future. A public hearing has been scheduled for Jan. 29 for the draft proposal of the Foundations for the Future Comprehensive Plan.  Georgia requires local governments to update their comprehensive plan every five years. The Columbia County Chamber is working on its five-year plan as well. Scott Sterling is working on the five-year plan for the Columbia County government.  He is the Planning Services Division Director and explained the process for ABD.
