Birdies for Boobies tees off for a great cause

There are no green jackets involved in the 2nd annual Birdies for Boobies golf tournament but for the breast cancer survivors who benefit from the money raised, it’s a crowning achievement, literally. The tournament is hosted by the Boobie Queen Company, a nonprofit founded by cancer survivor, Whitney O’Connor. She was diagnosed with breast cancer six weeks after getting married and just a week before her 30th birthday. A $150,000 grant has opened the door for changes to seating capacity at the Sharon Jones Amphitheater in North Augusta. The grant is through the Undiscovered South Carolina program in the state’s Parks, Recreation, and Tourism department. A large CSRA bridal event planned for last month has been rescheduled due to the weather. ABD previously ran a story about the first-ever Aiken-Augusta Bridal Show, which was scheduled for Sunday, March 26 at the Big Red Barn in Aiken. Local shared kitchen space to host cooking competition this weekend

Many people enjoy watching cooking competitions, which is why shows like Hell’s Kitchen, MasterChef, and Chopped are so popular. But a local shared kitchen space owner is hosting her own competition. The numbers are in and Jersey Mike’s sandwich locations across the U.S. surpassed their fundraising goal, raising $21 million for local charities. New York natives to open CSRA bagel shop and delicatessen

When Joseph and Yvette Gallachi moved to Aiken in December, they discovered there were no eateries in that area that served New York-style bagels, so the experienced entrepreneurs decided to open one of their own. The Finem Group at Meybohm Commercial announced in a press release on March 30, that The Bee’s Knees space is now up for lease.
