CSRA Restaurant Partners with Salvation Army for Donations

Wife Saver Restaurant on North Leg Road can save you a night of cooking but they are also saving donations for those in need at the Salvation Army’s Center of Hope.

The Fresh Start Donation Drive is a month-long effort that aims to ensure individuals and families experiencing homelessness have access to basic hygiene items necessary for maintaining health and dignity. Items needed include shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, razors, lotion, and soap.

“Access to basic hygiene products is critical for both health and self-confidence, especially for our clients who are working and going to school,” said Major Jonathan Raymer, Area Commander for The Salvation Army of Augusta. “This partnership with Wife Saver allows us to engage the community in a simple yet impactful way to support our neighbors in need.”

On average, two-thirds of the clients staying at the Center of Hope are employed or actively searching for work, making personal hygiene essential for job interviews and maintaining employment. Additionally, the Center of Hope provides shelter for approximately 14 children each night, most of whom are school-aged. Ensuring these children have access to hygiene products helps them feel confident and healthy in the classroom.

Chris Cunningham, owner of Wife Saver, shared, “We are honored to partner with The Salvation Army to Augusta. It’s a small way to give back to the community that has supported us for years. We hope our customers will join us in making a difference.”
