Christ Community Health’s new South Augusta location is already open and busy, but the official ribbon-cutting took place on Thursday, May 26. The office is located next to Barney’s Pharmacy at 2604 Peach Orchard Road, Suite 200. It opened in December 2021.
“Over the past five months, they have handled over 3,000 patient visits,” CEO, Don Branum said.
The non-profit organization, which provides a variety of health care services for children and adults throughout the CSRA, continues to serve uninsured and underinsured patients throughout the CSRA, thanks to financial support from a variety of businesses and organizations, such as Bank of America, the Knox Foundation and Georgia Power Foundation.
Representatives from the Augusta Metro and Columbia County Chambers of Commerce participated in the ribbon-cutting, and staff provided tours of the facility.
The South Augusta location has four providers. Unlike some medical nonprofits, all Christ Community providers are paid employees, not volunteers. Beyond treating illnesses, doctors and nurses also pray and read the Bible with patients.

“We’re very pleased to have a clinic in this part of Augusta,” Branum said. “It’s easily accessible for many of our patients.”
Branum said many of these patients have transportation problems.
Besides the new office, Christ Community also has locations on D’Antignac and Telfair streets in downtown Augusta. The Telfair Street location also offers dental services.
Founded in 2007, the nonprofit serves patients in the 10-county region surrounding Augusta. For more information, visit cchsaugusta.org or call 706-922-0600.
