Many companies are dealing with a severe labor shortage, but a national corporation is addressing the shortage by offering local job seekers 2,500 reasons to apply.
Verizon is offering sign-on bonuses of up to $2,500 for new retail sales representatives in the Augusta area, according to Communications Manager, Heidi Flato. Employees receive a variety of benefits, such as healthcare and tuition assistance.
“We’re looking for problem solvers, great listeners, gaming enthusiasts, and passionate techies,” Flato said.
The company has stores and authorized retail locations throughout the CSRA, including Augusta, Evans, Grovetown, and North Augusta. Many local retail positions are available, which require a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of work experience.

“Verizon is adding more than 600 jobs from coast to coast,” she said.
Founded in June 2000, Verizon Communications has nearly 1,500 retail locations worldwide. According to a company fact sheet, it generated revenues of almost $134 billion in 2021. Verizon stores sell cell phones, accessories, and wireless plans.
