Patti McGrath has worked in the CSRA in marketing and handling event planning for many years.
Now, she can add business owner to her resume.
When she decided to open her own company, she decided to focus on creating events that celebrate the moments that make our lives memorable instead of large corporate affairs. She also wanted to offer vintage china to help others add the elegance of a bygone era to their table. Her event planning and vintage china business, Simply Social Events and More, LLC, opened for business on March 2, 2026.
“We will serve adult individuals, businesses, and organizations in groups of fifty people or less, by creating more stylish ways to celebrate,” Ms. McGrath said. “We offer everything from baby showers to retirement parties and small weddings to business meetings. Having friends over for a garden party or tea party can be a special occasion you create. You don’t have to wait for a birthday to have a party. Life is short, so celebrate friendships and family.”
“We’d like to create exquisite dinner parties for families and friends to celebrate an engagement or even help the boy next door plan a proposal to his lifetime love, ” she continued. “Team members appreciate being remembered and rewarded, so we want to serve small businesses organizing awards dinners recognizing their staff in extraordinary ways. We’d like to help departments in larger companies with parties for their employees. It’s all about specializing in intimate, polished events that are designed to reflect our clients’ personal style and preferences. This way, we can ensure a distinctive, unique, and unforgettable experience.”

Vintage China is part of the experience, and rental is part of the services Simply Social Events and More, LLC offers. Clients using the event planning services may use their selection of both vintage and new china at no extra charge.
Vintage China rental is offered at reasonable costs to those not using Simply Social’s planning services, so anyone may add sophistication to their table.
“There was a time when brides picked out china patterns and collected china pieces over several years until her set was complete. Unfortunately, those days are gone. In fact, many have sold family china simply because they didn’t have space to store dishes, no matter how lovely, that wasn’t used on a regular basis,” McGrath stated. “Now, many people are looking for the classic beauty of an elegantly set table. Wedding receptions have started using mismatched china patterns, and the results have been exquisite.”
Simply Social Events and More, LLC offers over one hundred vintage china patterns to mix and match. “I’ve spent a lot of time coordinating different china patterns that looked great together,” Ms. McGrath said. “When you mix-and -match various patterns of china well, it is more exceptional than having matching plates. It’s unique and sophisticated. And you don’t need a large event to rent china. Any family dinner you want to make special will do.”
