New cycling studio to spin into the CSRA this summer

Many people want to lose weight and get in shape, but don’t think they have the strength or stamina to take a spin class. A new cycling studio coming to Evans will offer workouts for people of all fitness levels.

This summer, CycleBar plans to open a new location at 4218 Washington Road, Suite 6 near Academy Fitness + Outdoors.

“We’re expecting to open in July, and construction will begin in the next two weeks,” said Amy Peel, the General Manager for CycleBar Evans. “We’re tailored for everyone; you do what you can do, until you can do more.”

Peel said it will be the only fitness studio that focuses strictly on cycling in the Augusta area. The new location will offer six types of classes that provide high-intensity, low-impact workouts, including a foundations class for beginners. But anyone, regardless of his or her fitness level, can take any of the classes which are taught by certified instructors.

“We provide your cycling shoes for you,” she said. “All you have to do is show up.”

Members also receive a music playlist and statistics that show their progress over time. Foundation memberships are currently 30 percent off, and these members will receive access to workouts they can complete at home until the studio opens.

The studio will be open seven days a week. The first class will begin at 5:30 a.m., and the last class will end at 8 p.m.

Founded in 2004, CycleBar has locations throughout much of the U.S.

“CycleBar is life-changing; we want people to feel at home here,” Peel said.
