It’s a New Year and there’s a new entertainment venue inside the White’s Building on 936 Broad Street in downtown Augusta. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights are filled in January with different bands offering smooth R&B, Rock and Roll classics, and other easy listening options.
Owner, Marty Koger just hired CEO, Burt Rayburn. “He’s my Chief Entertainment Officer,” joked Koger.
This weekend, Rayburn and his bandmates in the group “Olde Towne Gentlemen” will take the stage with their backs to the glass window overlooking Broad Street.
“We want the experience to be a “win-win-win” for the community,” added Koger.
There’s no cover charge. He offers his venue to groups at no charge. He’s providing the music, allowing customers to bring in food, and looking for caterers to partner with.
Tip Top Taps has dozens of beers on tap and has room on the first and second floors for listening to the tunes.
Koger says musical acts will perform sometime after 6:30 pm and be finished before the 10 pm closing time.
He moved his concept from Washington Road in Evans after selling his property to Queensborough National Bank & Trust. He opened around Thanksgiving of last year.
“We have great beers, a great venue, and hope Augusta will make an effort to come downtown for fun in a safe atmosphere,” added Koger.
