Before a local Tex-Mex restaurant opened its doors for the first time Monday morning, a long line of customers was already waiting to get inside.
Surcheros Fresh Mex celebrated the grand opening of its newest location at 2907 Washington Road, Suite 402, in Augusta. It’s located near Jason’s Deli in the Washington Crossing shopping center.
Surcheros offers a variety of meals, including tacos, burritos, nachos, and quesadillas. Customers also have their choice of more than 25 toppings.
Just before the restaurant opened, the Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“We cannot wait to introduce the Augusta community to our fresh food,” said franchise owner, Madison Tuten. “Our goal is to make sure every part of your experience at Surcheros Fresh Mex reflects our motto: ‘Friendly Tex-Mex, Fresh Every Day.’”
To celebrate its grand opening week, the restaurant is providing guests with a variety of giveaways, such as free menu items and drinks.
The company has locations throughout Georgia and northern Florida, including Albany, Statesboro, Savannah, and Valdosta.
The Augusta location is open Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, visit surcheros.com or call 706-305-9889.
