South Georgia Bank adds next location north to the CSRA

The competitive banking sector in Augusta just got a little more competitive.

South Georgia Bank is moving its next branch further north to the Summerville area of the CSRA. It will be referred to as South Georgia Bank Augusta.

The new location will be in the former Regions Bank and Summerville Pharmacy two-story building on 2839 Central Avenue, which is next door to Dairy Queen. According to the Loopnet property website, the building is approximately 5,000 square feet and was built just over 50 years ago.

“We are finalizing our grand opening date now. It will be late next month sometime.

SGB is a trusted community bank with local bankers who understand the unique needs of our customers in the communities we are proud to serve,” said Branford Thompson, Market President.

According to its website (www.southgabank.com), the bank provides a full suite of savings, checking, and loan products. Its mission statement is listed as “offering banking services that exceed the expectations of our customers, shareholders, and employees.”

Other South Georgia bank branches are in Reidsville, Hinesville, Glennville, and Claxton, Georgia.

The Daniel Village Shopping Center is between South Georgia Bank Augusta and two other banks, Cadence and Truist.

ABD recently reported that Chase Bank opened a branch in a strip center in front of the Kroger at the intersection of Washington Road and Alexander Drive in National Hills.
