The North Augusta Chamber of Commerce is calling for its members and all businesses to participate in a new guide highlighting businesses and what makes the city unique.
Called North Augusta Advantage: The Official Business & Growth Guide, it will be a full-color guide that will be available online and in a print version.
Terra Carroll, Chamber president and CEO, said they have produced a guide in the past, but this version will be more focused on business.
“Those that may be relocating for business or bringing a business or considering putting a business in North Augusta, that they have that guide as a resource for all the information that they need to start up or expand or consider the area,” she explained for ABD. “It’ll be a resource guide, like where do I go for utilities, where do I go for assistance, whether it’s the SBDC or SCORE, and those types of things, and all the services that the Chamber provides to help them build their business.”

Ad sizes will range from one-eighth of a page to a full page or the opportunity to be featured on the front or back cover. Prices start at $150 and range up to $2,750 for the most premium placements. Carroll said that makes it ideal for businesses of all sizes.
“For large businesses being a part of that to show, especially those that may be relocating, whether it’s because of Fort Gordon, and they have family members, they know these are some of the employers that are in this area that I could possibly work for, so it could be a recruitment tool for some of the large businesses,” she said.
The new guide has five goals for those that participate:
- Reach a targeted local audience
- Increase visibility for your business
- Build credibility through Chamber affiliation
- Promote your products and services year-round
- Stand out in a high-quality community publication
There will also be a section highlighting major events that draw large crowds to North Augusta and the surrounding areas.
“Whether it’s Nike Peach Jam, Iron Man, or Masters. People want to know where to eat, and not always will the tourism guys have everything you need,” said Carroll. “We will have that guide with QR codes, so as things update, you can go to our directory and see the different categories.”
That can make participation particularly advantageous for North Augusta’s food and drink establishments and unique small business including Orange Otter Toys, The Grove Gourmet Market, and the newly opening Crown and Lavender, all located on Georgia Avenue in the heart of downtown.
In that vein, the new guide will continue to provide information on lifestyle and quality of life businesses and activities.

“We still want to incorporate some of that into our guide. We’re trying to make sure we’re not competing with the work that Explore North Augusta, our new tourism department in North Augusta, is doing,” said Carroll. “They’re already creating their own pamphlets and things of that nature for folks that are visiting or relocating to the area.”
Printed copies will be available at the chamber office and distributed to area businesses and hotels.
Submissions will be accepted through mid-June. For more information on ad space and prices, call the chamber office at (803) 279-2323. Or email Carol at carol@s-mdesigns.com.
