SRNS Gives Back to Aid Local Children

Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) recently presented a $20,000 donation to the Child Advocacy Center (CAC) of Aiken County at the non-profit’s 20th annual fundraising gala. Over the years, SRNS has given over $240,000 to CAC in support of their mission to provide intervention, treatment, and prevention services that promote healing for Aiken County children who have experienced abuse. The annual gala raises funds to cover the organization’s operational costs.

Kent Williams, Director of the Radiological Protection Department at SRNS, recently completed a six-year tenure as CAC treasurer. “I’m proud to be a part of a company like SRNS – one that consistently invests in the well-being of our local community through meaningful financial support,” Williams said. “CAC is one of those places you really wish the community didn’t need – but we do. And once you get in there and realize what the mission is, you start looking at things a lot different than you did before. Because of that, the work I did with CAC didn’t feel like work at all, and it makes me wonder why I didn’t do it sooner.”

Staci Peters, Senior Vice President of Business Services at SRNS, is joining CAC as a board member this year. “At SRNS, we believe that strong communities lead to shared success. Supporting organizations that uplift others is core to who we are,” she said. Peters was motivated to join the board of CAC due to its unwavering support for some of the most vulnerable members of our community. “The center’s mission to provide a coordinated, child-friendly response to child abuse investigations resonated with me. I wanted to be able to support an organization that changes that narrative, ensuring that every child feels safe, heard, and supported during such critical times,” she said.

CAC relies on the generosity of friends and neighbors to provide its services. For additional information, visit cacofaiken.org or call (803) 644-5100.
