Matthews Motors, a truck and trailer service company in Augusta, has acquired Venture Auto Sales of Augusta.
The acquisition joins two long-standing and successful family-owned businesses in the CSRA. With the acquisition, Matthews will have a complete portfolio of sales of light-, medium- and heavy-duty trucks to go along with its reputation for providing quality service for all makes and models. Matthews will keep all of Venture’s employees to expand its pre-owned automotive division.
Matthews Motors has been in business since 1991, but has been steadily expanding its services. Earlier this year, they bought Padgett Truck Bodies and started Matthews Truck Bodies.
“Growth through acquisition is a relatively new strategy for Matthews, as this is our second acquisition this year. We are extremely careful to make sure any addition to our team is both a cultural and a strategic fit,” said CFO, Aaron Matthews. “We have found this special fit with Venture.”
“The trucking industry is facing unprecedented changes and we need to adapt to those changes,” said CEO, Austin Matthews. “This acquisition is part of our company’s strategy to position us for future growth and expansion throughout the southeast United States.”
Matthews also sells and installs a variety of truck bodies, including hook lifts, cable hoists, flatbeds, utility bodies, and container carriers to meet specific industry needs.
