2 Questions for the Dean: MBA

There’s a little-known intangible reason why you or your colleagues should consider joining the MBA program at Augusta University’s Hull College of Business. Here are two questions with the Dean, Mark Thompson.

ABD: What’s unique about your MBA program in terms of attracting professionals in the CSRA?

HULLL: One of the things that we really highlight is recruiting. We want to recruit a cohort of students into the MBA program. You come into a class and you have all of these other working professionals from a number of different industries that are all getting to know each other, and so they move through this program as a cohort and really develop a networking base that is unlike any other.

Our MBA program is really designed to be a career-advancing credential or degree.

So, the idea is taking working professionals that may be at a point in their career where they’re either being passed over or they don’t have the skill set to take that next jump.

The MBA is designed to be that stepping stone that allows them to move into more of a management-type role.

ABD: Can you think of someone who went through your program, started at a particular position within the company, and got a better job?

HULL: Yes, I mean, there are even some individuals at Augusta University who started an entry-level type position, or even a mid-level type position, went through our MBA program, and now are part of the senior leadership team. So, that’s a great feeling that it’s also one that they’re the first to advocate on behalf of the college, and the great things that the college is doing.
