$3.6 million Investment in Columbia County

Andy Jones, Dealer Principal/President of the Gerald Jones Automotive Group, bridged the past and present during the Wednesday afternoon celebration at the grand re-opening of Gerald Jones Lincoln at 4333 Washington Road in Evans.

Jones introduced his partners, who included David Jones, now retired, and the children of Frank Lawrence. Both men were TV spokespeople in the 1990’s and early 2000’s for various automotive brands in the CSRA they managed.

Many of Andy Jones’ family members were on hand, including the founders of the Gerald Jones Automotive Group. “My dad and mom came here from Greer, South Carolina, in 1974,” Jones humbly said in front of a crowd of more than 100 guests.

Three Lincoln representatives from as far away as their headquarters in Detroit, Michigan, attended the celebration for the luxury brand, which included a showroom highlight of the Lincoln Navigator with a sticker price of nearly $130,000.

In keeping with the luxury theme, Lincoln employees wore tuxes, while a jazz player entertained, a caterer carved Prime Rib, and an artist drew caricatures of guests.

Leaders of the Columbia County Chamber and Augusta Metro Chamber led a group ribbon-cutting.

During his remarks, Jones thanked his guests with his southern hospitality and sales charm learned over a lifetime in the car business.

“We are so excited to represent Lincoln in this facility. If you can, visit the new service department and everybody buy a car before you leave to help me pay for it, chuckled Jones.

Thank you for supporting the Jones’ for all these years,” he added.
