While trying to find a way to make money in the off-season, professional baseball player, Adam Sasser stumbled upon the idea of recycling, repairing, and reselling wood pallets. He started with a 25-year-old truck that was given to him by his grandfather, a 12-foot borrowed trailer, and a 10×20 piece of ground next to his parents’ house for storage.

Within eight months, E3 Pallet Solutions purchased a new truck, two gooseneck, flatbed trailers, and several 53-foot semi-trailers and was operating out of a 35,000-square-foot warehouse with 10 loading docks. His sales have grown week over week from week one and Sasser continues to see promising numbers for the future. Because of the company’s success and Sasser’s passion for the business, he made the decision to retire from baseball before the 2020 season and has never looked back.

“Hanging up my cleats was a no-brainer once I got rolling in this business. I met so many great people early on that mentored me and confirmed my early thoughts that I had stumbled upon an industry that would become my new passion,” he said.

From day one, Sasser has been building this company on a foundation of integrity, professionalism, and industry knowledge. He says his commitment to the 3 E’s – the environment, his employees, and educating his customers – sets him apart from his competition.

“Hiring the right people has been a huge part of our success as a company,” he said. “From day one, I hired my mom, Rachel Sasser, to help with sales. She has a good business acumen and has been able to assist with many aspects of the business but building customer relationships is her expertise.”

Rachel Sasser says of her son: “I spent a lot of years at the baseball field watching Adam play baseball and there were so many exciting and proud moments but I can honestly say, watching him grow this business and seeing the passion and excitement he has for it by far trumps anything he ever did in baseball. I cannot wait to see what else God has planned for Adam and E3 Pallet Solutions.”

Just over a year ago, E3 found it important to hire someone to handle their marketing and social media.  At that time, they made the excellent decision to hire a new Georgia Southern University graduate, Macy Mae Patterson. Macy worked part-time from home while looking for a job in her field. It was not long after she was hired that E3 realized the tremendous value she added to the company and they offered her a full-time position as the office manager and marketing coordinator.

“In the one year since I joined E3 Pallet Solutions, Adam has continued to build upon its people-first culture and has stayed focused on his vision of being a leader in the pallet industry,” Patterson said. “I feel incredibly fortunate to work alongside individuals who inspire me to grow, both personally and professionally. In the years to come, I see tremendous opportunities for E3. And it is truly an honor to have a front-row seat!”

E3 also hired its first full-time business development manager, Adam Cundey.

“The E3 culture is not just business per usual. It’s an energetic but refreshingly calm environment. Our team looks out for one another, offering a helping hand when needed, celebrating each other’s successes, and providing a shoulder to lean on during tough times. It’s this family-oriented mindset that creates a sense of belonging and camaraderie. I feel so fortunate to be a part of this organization and am looking forward to a long and bright future with E3 Pallet Solutions,” Cundey said.

Sasser and E3 Pallet Solutions have become respectable leaders in the pallet industry locally, regionally, and nationally.  The company is poised to be one of the fastest-growing businesses in the CSRA in 2024.

“Romans 8:28 is one of my favorite verses,” Sasser said. “It reads, ‘And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.’ Sometimes, our plans and God’s plans don’t always line up, but when they don’t for me, I like to lean on this verse and just wait to see what God has in store.  He never disappoints.”
