With help from ADP, Augusta University’s Hull College of Business has developed a training program designed to prepare female students for future business leadership roles.
The College’s Women’s Leadership Academy is currently accepting applications for the 2022-2023 academic year. The deadline to apply is Saturday, April 30, and each participant receives a $1,000 scholarship. The Academy recently completed its third year.

“While it’s primarily for business students, it’s open to all female undergraduate students at AU,” said Dean Rick Franza. “We’re looking for women with well-rounded skills.”
To be eligible, applicants must be in good academic standing and meet other requirements. Dr. Stacy Roberts, a lecturer of management, oversees the program. Sessions will begin in August 2022 and end in March 2023.

Funding for the program is provided by the ADP Foundation. Female executives from ADP also serve as mentors for the Academy. Franza said the company awarded the College a grant that it also uses to support other initiatives, such as undergraduate research and study abroad programs.
“We usually bring back students who participated the year before to act as peer mentors,” he said. “We usually have an ADP mentor and peer mentor for every three to five students.”
