Job Opening: Full-Time Administrative Professional
It’s been 50 years since David Bagwell’s father first hung his shingle in historic Augusta.
And while the family-owned and family-run insurance company has since relocated to Martinez, Bagwell Insurance Services’ mission remains the same.
“I saw early on growing up (insurance) was something I wanted to do,” said Bagwell. “As an independent agent, we can offer a lot of different products to a lot of different people. Insurance can be a complicated thing and I like helping people understand why they need it.”
Bagwell credits deep relationships in the community with the firm’s continued success.
“Most of our business is referrals,” he said.

David and his business partner, brother, Brad, take that same approach with their growing team.
The company has six employees and they’re looking to hire a seventh teammate for a key position: receptionist.
Sadly, their long-time receptionist recently passed away suddenly.
“We really can’t ever replace her,” he said.
Bagwell says the “gifted team member” should have the following traits:
“Optimistic, people-friendly, service-oriented – as our office is a happy place. Computer literate, Word and Excel proficiency, (we’ll teach our management system). Intelligent with clear verbal and written communication skills, a team player that is highly coachable, since the insurance industry changes constantly. Forward-thinking, we pride ourselves on “thinking outside the box.” Detail oriented – as our clients’ security depends on our accuracy.”
Responsibilities will include:
- Routing In-coming calls
- Scanning mail into the system
- Preparing ID cards when needed
- Downloading and routing daily transactions from company websites
- Taking customer payments
- Small Commercial lines renewals – preparing for mailing
- Managing office supply inventory
- Processing of new applications
