Best-selling author and speaker highlights Chamber’s annual meeting

Best-selling author and inspirational speaker, Jon Acuff has helped such renowned companies as FedEx, Nissan, Microsoft, Lockheed Martin, Chick-fil-A, Nokia and Comedy Central. Now he’s coming to Augusta to offer his insights at the Augusta Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting.

The Augusta Metro Chamber of Commerce will host is 113th annual meeting next Thursday.

Acuff, author of seven books, will be the keynote speaker at the Chamber’s 113th Annual Meeting on Thursday, March 3 in the Olmstead Exhibit Hall at the Augusta Marriott at the Convention Center. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the program begins at 6:30 p.m.

His presentation is called “Turning the Page: The Power of Aspirational Thinking.”

“The Annual Meeting event for the Chamber represents a time for our members to celebrate their achievements and embrace enthusiasm for the future,” said Sue Parr, Chamber President and CEO. “Our theme this year of ‘Turning the Page’ is designed to inspire our business community for continued success and economic growth.”

Acuff’s books have landed on the bestseller lists of the New York Times and other publications. His latest book is called Soundtracks: The Surprising Solution to Overthinking. Other books include Finish: Give Yourself the Gift of Done, a Wall Street Journal No. 1 Bestseller, and Do Over: Make Today the First Day of Your New Career.

The event will include dinner, a look at 2021 in review, the 2022 forecast and the passing of the chairman’s gavel. Several local businesses are sponsoring the event, such as FPL Food LLC, Ocozzio and Jordan Trotter Commercial Real Estate.

The registration deadline is Tuesday, March 1. The cost is $75 for Chamber members and $90 for prospective members. Corporate tables are also available at a discounted rate.
