Bringing together the best minds and best practices

A summit scheduled for later this month is an opportunity for Metro Augusta business leaders, employees, and interested individuals to learn successful techniques from experts.

The Power of You summit is set for Tuesday, Oct. 28th, in the fellowship hall at First Baptist Church of Augusta. This is the second year Richardson Professional Solutions (RPS) has sponsored this event.

RPS President and CEO Amy Richardson told ABD as a business owner and member of Business Network International (BNI), she has had the opportunity to travel to conferences across the country.

“Coming back to our area, it seems that there’s a lot of people that haven’t really gotten to experience that,” she said. “So, I wanted to be able to bring something similar, that high-end conference feel here. Bringing the conference to the community instead of the community going out to that.”

Richardson said they will have topics broad enough to be applicable to individuals across all industries, while also tactical enough that attendees will learn action items they can use.

“A lot of our sessions are going to revolve around things like digging deeper as a leader, or trying to avoid burnout, multiple generations in the workplace, your network is your net worth, how to leverage AI (artificial intelligence) across your business, things that could be applicable to you, whether you are that home inspector or that realtor or someone working for Textron,” she explained.

Amy Richardson, President of Richardson Professional Solutions, is spearheading the 2nd annual event.

The conference is designed to provide strategies for business owners as well as individuals at all stages of their careers.

“Anyone kind of on that spectrum to really be able to dig deeper, to be an asset, wherever you are, whatever stage of life that you’re in,” Richardson said. “Because whether you’re a young professional or a seasoned professional, all of these sessions are going to be just as powerful for you.”

Speakers will include:

  • Lightening Talk: The Power of You by Dr. Jackson Drumgoole from Wellstar Hospital + Bridge Builder Communities
  • “Navigating Generational Diversity in the Workplace” with Dr. Stacy Roberts, SMR Leadership Solutions
  • “Financial Literacy Basics” from Chris Etterlee, Fuller Frost and Associates CPAs
  • “Recruiting for Your Business Like a Pro Sports Team” by Robert Kelly, Augusta Staffing
  • “Don’t Replace Your Attorney with Chat GPT” with Attorney Ed Enoch, Enoch Tarver Law Firm

There will be breakout sessions throughout the day.

In addition to the speakers, there will be breakout sessions and the opportunity to network and talk with representatives from the companies sponsoring the summit.

Prior to the Tuesday summit, there will be a kick-off party on Monday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Summer House Realty at 2735 Washington Rd.

Doors open Tuesday at 8 a.m. for the summit, and it will run until 5 p.m. Registration will include breakfast, lunch, an all-day coffee bar, and an afternoon snack. The church is located at 3500 Walton Way Ext.
