Business partnership results in new name/same game

The Augusta Arsenal Soccer Club has announced a landmark partnership with Augusta-Aiken Orthopedic Specialists (AAOS) that includes naming rights for the club’s soccer park. The facility will be officially renamed AAOS Arsenal Park effective immediately.

“We are thrilled to partner with the excellent team of medical professionals at Augusta-Aiken Orthopedic Specialists,” said Nick Edmond, Director of the Augusta Arsenal Soccer Club. “Their expertise in orthopedic care and sports medicine will be invaluable for keeping our players healthy and performing at their highest levels.”

As part of the multi-year agreement and in addition to branding the park, AAOS will provide sports medicine services to Arsenal players of all ages. This includes injury prevention programs, expedited orthopedic appointments, and other support to the Gunners.

“Youth sports play such an important role in the development of young athletes and Arsenal has been an important Augusta institution for over 40 years,” said Dr. Nicholas Capito, a surgeon at Augusta-Aiken Orthopedic Specialists and former Augusta Arsenal youth player. “We are proud to partner with the club to help keep these players healthy, recover quickly from injuries when they occur, and reach their full potential.”

Ryan McArdle, Board Chair of the Augusta Arsenal Soccer Club, said the partnership will elevate the Arsenal program to new heights. “With AAOS’s support and resources, along with our premier facility, we are positioned to continue to be one of the region’s top youth soccer programs.”

According to the Augusta Arsenal Soccer Club, loyalty, hard work, commitment to excellence, working with others, tolerance, respect, and friendship are all values that should be gained through participation in youth soccer at the Arsenal. For more information, visit
