Cart Mart rolls into new CSRA location

What do hospitals, farms, military bases, and golf courses have in common? Golf carts. The uses depend on where you are and your needs. Outside of state roads or interstate highways, golf carts provide a handy way to get from point A to point B.

Cart Mart moved in April from Augusta to 1044 E. Pine Log Road in Aiken, the former location of Aiken Saddlery. Since 2021, Zach Brown has served as the Sales Director for the GA/SC Cart Mart commercial team.

“We’ve been incredibly busy in the past couple of months. We didn’t realize how many broken golf carts there were in the Aiken area,” Brown explained.

Cart Mart is the country’s oldest and largest golf car and commercial electric vehicle dealer with over 60 years in the business. The company has seen significant growth in both top line and market share for fifteen straight years in a row, growing from a single location to now six locations serving Southern California, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Baja, Mexico.

Golf carts have come a long way since the 1930’s and are now a staple in the game of golf and for many uses outside of the game. The major popularity of golf carts has led the industry to blossom to an astounding 2 billion dollars.

These aren’t your grandpa’s golf carts. They are available in two, four, or six-seaters. They have backup beepers, DOT-rated windshields and wipers, blinkers, and taillights. In other words, they have all the bells and whistles. Some are gas-powered, but most run off electric batteries.

“We are a retail business, but a significant chunk of what we do is the parts, service, and rental side,” he said. “Unlike any other dealer around, we have mobile service technicians who can travel to our customers, so they don’t have to figure out how to haul a broken golf cart to us.”

When he isn’t running the show in Aiken and hustling to provide customer service and golf cart sales, Brown does like to play golf. For now, he and his team are teeing it up with repairs to make a client happy so that they can get back on the road.
