A national furniture company has opened a new location in Aiken. American Freight Furniture (see photo above) is now open at 1680 Richland Ave. West near Food Lion in Kalmia Plaza. The 30,000-square-foot store sells a variety of items, such as indoor and outdoor furniture, as well as mattresses, appliances, and rugs. Founded in 1994, American Freight has more than 350 stores in 40 states, including one located at 1708 Wylds Road in Augusta. ABD previously reported construction work being performed in the former site of Atlanta Bread Company in Augusta. The building, located at 255 Robert C. Daniel Jr. Parkway next door to Panda Express, will soon be occupied by America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses (see their banner). The Augusta location of Atlanta Bread closed its doors in 2019 after 20 years in business. America’s Best performs eye exams by a licensed optometrist and sells both contact lenses and glasses.
