New Mexican eatery coming to Augusta

Miguel and Lupita Chavez are no novices when it comes to owning and operating a Mexican restaurant. The couple plans to launch their newest business venture in Augusta next week. The Chavezes, along with their sons, Brandon and Diego, are opening Lokos Tacos, which will be located at 2825 Washington Road in Fairway Square between B.B. Vape Co. and Mooney’s Shoes. Rebecca van Loenen shops at ALDI, which has been out of chicken for weeks. But Augusta Locally Grown (AGL) has always had plenty of chicken and other staples in stock. Women’s boutique to open in Augusta shopping center

A women’s boutique with about 20 locations scattered throughout the Southeast is bringing a new location to the Augusta Exchange shopping center, according to Meybohm Commercial Properties. Lizard Thicket Boutique will be located at 253 Robert C. Daniel Jr. Parkway, Suite A. 10th Street will become the site of the daylong block party

Last month, Manny Hatzis opened a sports bar on 10th Street. On Oct. 8, he, along with other restaurants on that street collaborated to plan a free outdoor event. Hatzis, owner of Manny’s Sports Off Broad, will be one of the hosts of the 10th Street Bazaar, a block party that will be held between Broad and Ellis Streets from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event will feature street cooking and local artists, musicians, and vendors, such as Sweet Pea Soapery, Sage & Cedar Organics, and Black Rose Jewelry.

After more than four months of waiting, planning, and rebuilding, a local business damaged by a car accident is ready to reopen its doors. Former chalk mine near Aiken now home to young golfers
