Real Talk Real Estate: September 24th update!

Happy Fall! What an amazing spring and summer we have survived in real estate. So many buyers and sellers are hoping for a reprieve, so I figure it is time for a quick market update. Currently in the entire CSRA we have 982 residential properties listed for sale and 1,932 homes are pending sale. This means that a buyer has made an offer that the seller accepted, and the buyer and seller are working towards completion of the sale, also known as a closing. The average listed price per square

Real Talk Real Estate: Credit Crunch

As a Realtor, I answer a lot of questions about money and one of the most common concerns people discuss with me is credit worthiness. Credit is essentially your adult report card on the subject of financial commitment. It will disclose exactly how responsible you are with following through. I want to say a few things that maybe no one has said to you before. First off, you will only have a credit report score if you have borrowed money, or if you owe money that you did not pay,

Coach Darin: Is your company process on point?

Editor’s Note: If you’ve ever seen the CNBC show, “The Profit”, the lead “character” in the business reality show always talks about the 3 P’s, “People, Product and Process”. In this week’s Coach’s Corner, Darin Myers says if you’ve got the “flow”, your company is ready to go! As in our daily lives, the world of business has grown a great deal more complex in recent times. Generally speaking, every organization finds itself challenged by innovations in technology, elaborate organization processes and procedures, and the need for compliance with all

Local rent prices climb as supply of available homes remains low

Renting a house or apartment in the CSRA has become increasingly expensive, and Shawna Woodward doesn’t expect rental prices to decrease significantly in the future. Woodward – real estate agent for RE/MAX Reinvented and a rental property manager, says local rent prices have increased because of a shortage of homes available to rent. “Owners can raise the price because there aren’t that many to choose from,” she explains. Many potential renters want to live in certain areas, such as Columbia County and West Augusta. North Augusta is another popular area,

Coach Darin: Make your business life easier!

Editor’s Note: Augusta Business Daily would not make deadline without “shortcuts” like Google Drive or Dropbox. When I ran Buzz on Biz, we literally ran all communications on stories, photos, and updates via email or text!  Things are simpler now. Here are (3) excellent tips from Darin Myers, my coach at TAB CSRA! Ironically, technology enables us to get our work done anywhere and become more productive, but also takes us down many time-wasting activities and paths. When we are on our devices, it is easy to get sidetracked and

Real Talk Real Estate: Home inspection vs. appraisal

When you are in the position to buy a home, make sure you have a home inspection. A common misconception that I hear from buyers regularly is that they are planning to rely on the appraisal inspection. Buyers who are getting a VA loan seem to be the largest population of buyers who believe the VA is inspecting their home. It is very important that as a buyer, you know the difference between a home inspection and an appraisal. An appraisal is almost always a requirement if you are getting

Coach Darin: Use your time wisely!

Editor’s Note: I was in a business networking meeting recently in Augusta when the subject of time management came up. An owner of a service company mentioned that his technicians and his clients ALL ask for him when they have an issue! It was suggested that he consider blocking out a few hours with the door shut to plan, think and work “on the business” instead of “in the business”. Is that you? It’s too bad there are only 24 hours in a day. Think what you could get accomplished

News 12/26, Cardinal Health and photography studio enforce vaccine mandates

Evamaria Foltz – a local photographer – doesn’t require her contracted photographers to be vaccinated against COVID-19, but everyone, including photographers and clients, must now show proof of full vaccination before entering her home studio in Martinez. Their contracts won’t be terminated, but there will not be any work until they get vaccinated or until Foltz changes her policy. Foltz – owner of Foltz Photography, LLC – states she only has contracted workers. “I’m not forcing anyone to do anything,” she explains. They “have the complete freedom to make their
