Gerald Jones Auto Group is celebrating 50 years of serving the CSRA by entering a 5-year commitment with Augusta Technical College, resulting in a $250,000 donation to the school’s Foundation. The Augusta Technical College Foundation helps create essential career pathways for the growing automotive landscape in Augusta.
Andy Jones of Gerald Jones Auto Group said, “It is critical that we support Augusta Technical College in providing training and education for careers in automotive. It’s also important to the success of our dealerships and it’s great for our area residents.”
The company has a long history of giving back to the community over its 50 years in business. Gerald Jones opened his first dealership in Augusta in 1974. After 11 successful years in the business, he passed the business down to his son, Andy Jones. In keeping with his father’s legacy, Andy continued to expand the business into what it is today – a growing network of dealerships serving Augusta and the CSRA.
As ABD has previously reported, these dealerships are part of a ten-brand portfolio that includes Honda, VW, Audi, Volvo, Subaru, and Mazda—all of these are located at the Gerald Jones superstore on Flowing Wells Road between Washington Road and Columbia Road in Martinez.
Starting with a single Volkswagen store, the Gerald Jones Auto Group has grown to encompass nine lines, seven dealerships, and four locations. Over the years, they’ve sold over 200,000 cars.
