Many people’s New Year’s resolutions involve getting more exercise or losing weight, but Amber Connor’s resolution for 2023 is to expand her dessert business.
Connor owns Sinless Sweets located at 4336 B Washington Road in Evans, which sells a variety of treats, such as cookies, cupcakes, brownies, and peanut butter balls that contain less sugar, fat, and calories than desserts sold by other bakeries. Its motto is “Treats Without the Cheats.”
She plans to grow the business in three ways: offering more catering services, using the food truck for more local events, and providing an expanded shipping menu.
“I did a couple of catering jobs last year,” Connor said.

But she would like to cater more events, such as birthday parties and baby showers. Connor can offer menu options other caterers don’t, including allergy-friendly, keto-friendly, and vegan desserts.
She and her staff have taken the Sinless Sweets food truck to various events, such as the Evans Market and Columbia County’s Food Truck Fridays.
“The food truck is where Sinless Sweets started,” Connor said.
Prior to opening her storefront, you could find the food truck at many locations, including neighborhoods and the Evans Towne Center Park. She plans to rent the truck out to customers for their events.
Connor also uses it to give back to the community. For example, last year, she provided 200 cupcakes to the homeless for Thanksgiving.
She already offers a limited shipping menu, but by next week, she plans to unveil an expanded menu. The business has shipped treats to various states, including Washington, New York, and Texas.
“We’re going to be shipping Sinless Sweets throughout the United States,” Connor said. “I’ve always wanted to grow the shipping side of our business.”

She said she knew from the beginning that she wanted to expand the business. Her five-year plan includes opening a second location, possibly in the Lexington area.
On Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Connor and her team will celebrate the one-year anniversary of launching her storefront. The first 100 people will receive a free mini cupcake, and one lucky winner will take home prizes valued at over $500 provided by local businesses, such as Endurance Fitness and Clean Eatz.
As Connor’s business has grown, so has the size of her staff. She started the business with just one employee and now has six employees working in her bakery.
“Business is going really well,” Connor said.
Sinless Sweets is open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, visit sinless-sweet.com/.
