Daniel Shaffer not only repairs cars, but also strives to help his customers facing financial difficulties get back on the road as quickly as possible.
Shaffer owns Keep it Rolling Automotive located at 1726-B Barton Chapel Road in Augusta. He will celebrate the business’s second anniversary on Friday, June 9, from noon to 2 p.m., by hosting a free cookout for his new and existing customers.
Shaffer said Keep it Rolling specializes in vehicle restorations, but he also provides a variety of other services, including tire installations, brake repairs, oil changes, and preventive maintenance.
“I enjoy meeting people from the community and helping them when they’re in tight situations,” Shaffer said.
The business offers customers financing through a program called SNAP.
“If they pay off the entire balance within 100 days, they pay no finance charges,” he said.
Of course, launching a new business in the middle of a pandemic was no easy task, especially with a weakened economy and supply chain issues that significantly affected Shaffer’s ability to get the car parts he needed. He said the supply chain situation has improved, but the cost of parts hasn’t.

“I would like to do better with the prices for my customers, but with the economy we live in, that’s not possible,” Shaffer said.
Growing up, he helped his father and uncle work on cars.
“I’ve always had a passion for it,” Shaffer said. “I like taking something that’s 30-40 years old and making it look brand new again.”
He said he recently restored an engine for a customer, and when the customer saw it, he looked like he was about to cry.
“Our motto is ‘we like to keep our customers rolling,’” Shaffer said. “We’ve got some of the quickest turnarounds when it comes to mechanic shops here locally.”
