CSRA business success leads to expansion

When Maria Cardona opened her therapeutic massage business last July, she never sat still. She kept up a constant flow of messages on social media, she walked up and down Laurens Street in Aiken handing out business cards, and she got to know neighboring businesses. The networking paid off.

“Business has been great. Being a Chamber member helped and the foot traffic generated by our next-door neighbor, Radioactive Pinball Arcade, resulted in new clients,” Cardona explained.

Cardona knew it was time for her business to grow. Meanwhile, Uma Hill was ready to retire after 30+ years in the massage therapy business. According to Cardona, Hill had built a respected practice, Massage-Ology at 207 Silver Bluff Road.

“It was the right time to buy her practice and expand our business. It almost doubles our space and allows us to offer new ways to de-stress.”

Maria Cardona will be opening her massage business on 207 Silver Bluff Road, former location of Massage-Ology in Aiken, on August 1.

Cardona plans to open August 1 in the new location. She and her team will be adding yoga classes, meditation, and sound baths which she describes as a “peaceful vibration that goes through your entire body.”

She will also have some four-legged therapy available in the form of her Pekingese-mix pup Negan.

“We just want to create a bigger place that gives Zen and peace. Having Negan there will help.”

You can follow Maria Cardona Therapeutic Massage on Facebook to check on the progress of their new location.
