CSRA companies to represent at AU job fair tomorrow

More than 70 local, regional, and national companies will attend the Augusta University’s annual job fair tomorrow. Applying for a job is often impersonal and typically consists of filling out a detailed application a prospective employer may not even read, but this is an opportunity for students, alumni, and the general public to get in front of area employers under the same roof.

Tomorrow, the university’s Career Services office will host its annual Jaguar Job Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Christenberry Fieldhouse located at 3109 Wrightsboro Road in Augusta.

Companies represented at the event will include Loop Recruiting, Augusta Staffing Associates, Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, and Queensborough National Bank & Trust Co.

Job seekers will have the chance to learn about full-time, part-time, and internship jobs, as well as graduate school opportunities.

AU Career Services Director, Julie Goley said attending the fair is a great way to meet employers and expand one’s professional network.

The AU Job Fair presents an opportunity to network with 70 area businesses.

“Many of the employers have immediate hiring needs but are also looking to discuss future hiring needs,” Goley said. “It is not unusual for our students to make a contact at an event like this and cultivate that into an internship or full-time offer/opportunity much later in the year.”
