Based on the reason for this photo a few years ago, it’s probably not a surprise that Augusta-based Modern Welding Company of Georgia, Inc., won one of the national workplace Safety Awards of Excellence from the Steel Plate Fabricators Association.
The Steel Tank Institute/Steel Plate Fabricators Association held the awards ceremony, which recognizes companies that demonstrate exceptional safety performance and measurable improvements in workplace safety. The company was among 11 companies nationwide to receive the honor this year.
Modern Welding Manufacturers of underground, aboveground, ASME pressure vessels and many other steel fabricated products serving the petroleum, chemical, agricultural, and other US industries across the nation.
“We are pleased to honor Modern Welding Company of Georgia, Inc., with a national safety award,” said Tim O’Toole, CEO of STI/SPFA. “Their achievements reflect the commitment to safety and the dedication of the people who work every day to make our industry stronger.”
Modern Welding Company of Georgia’s plant in Augusta is located at 300 Prep Phillips Drive in downtown Augusta along the Savannah River, not far from Olde Town. They are celebrating their 50th Anniversary of building this plant.
