ABD first told you the newest Ashley Furniture Store announced it was coming to Aiken in late January.
Spring was the target date. Ashley reached ABD late yesterday to say that the grand opening is now set for August 29th at 11:00 AM.
The new Ashley is moving into the former Aiken Furniture Company store and occupying more than 25,000 square feet.
Ashley’s latest 7.0 store concept will be next to Target and Planet Fitness in the Aiken Exchange Plaza.
Planet Fitness managers told ABD the vacant store had been used for seasonal pop-up shops in advance of Ashley doing its buildout.
The 7.0 store design features a contemporary open floor plan, an expanded sleep gallery, and stylish interior design elements. The Aiken Ashley represents Broad River Retail’s fifth 7.0 store concept.
Ashley officials estimated back in early 2024 that it would employ about a dozen associates.
Headquartered in Fort Mill, South Carolina, Broad River Retail owns and operates seven Ashley stores and outlets in South Carolina and an Ashley store and outlet in Augusta, located at 3435 Wrightsboro Road. That store was originally in the Augusta Exchange Shopping Center before moving to a larger store.
