Faith Friday: Gunshot victim experiences God’s healing and heals others

People develop their personal faith journey in different ways. Some experience triumph that solidifies belief in self, in others and in a higher power. Others survive a gunshot wound to the head. That’s Christina Riley’s testimony. It was 2009. She was 19. She was hit by a .22 bullet, a wound from which she still has fragments throughout her face, head, jaw, neck and shoulders.

However, she lived to tell the tale of how God spared her life so she could help others heal theirs.

“I lost vision in my right eye,” she vividly but painfully recalls. “I suffered from many different physiological changes like PTSD, depression, and low self-esteem. There were days that I didn’t want to get up. I suffered no brain damage, so I knew I had a purpose for being here. I remember asking God to show me my purpose. I later went to nursing school, and working in the field I realized that there was something more to this. I needed to do more. I began healing my own health and psychological issues. Once I healed myself, I began to reach out to others.”

Be Soul-full by Christina’s mission statement promotes spiritual and physical healing.

A longtime advocate of natural medicine, she wanted to share ways herbal remedies improved her life. The pandemic catapulted her private healing journey into a broader and more public space in June, 2021, as COVID cases spiked. Be Soul-full by Christina began to take on a life of its own. “I went public with my business for the purpose of helping the world. At first, I was only servicing those around me. Then, in just a few short weeks, word about my business had stretched beyond the CSRA. People were calling me from all over. My mission statement is simple: Promoting health on a spiritual and physical level. I believe that the mind, body and soul have to function at their highest level to help improve physical health,” she said.

Be Soul-full by Christina boasts an herbal formula that combats symptoms of COVID. “I’ve created an herbal formula in sea moss gel or gummies to help fight COVID symptoms while providing the body with 107 vitamins and minerals,” said Riley, who calls herself The Nurse with the Remedies. “The products and services that I provide are based on herbal medicine to help control diseases. Some people who couldn’t afford certain medications would come to me for help, and I was able to help them. They were not considered a candidate for those other medications anymore. Some have even said they no longer struggle with health issues they once had.”

Riley sells vegetable capsules containing 92 minerals, she says are ‘blood food’ and promote weight loss.

Riley says she wants her specialty gummies, smoothies and capsules and also vegan skin care products like soaps, lotions, shower gels and body butters for men and women, to have a life-changing effect. She also wants to leave a legacy of spiritual healing that goes beyond a physical product. “I hope to leave the impression on not just my peers, but also the world that we all need each other. We all have to stop being afraid to ask someone if they are okay. We have to stop being afraid to be kind, loving and compassionate. Love goes a long way. I just want everyone to know love.

Riley says her handmade soaps are all natural and vegan.
