If you had the opportunity to listen to a speech from the former commander of Fort Gordon, you would probably do whatever you could to take advantage of that opportunity. Retired Brig. Gen. Jeff Foley, a 32-year Army veteran, author and leadership coach, will serve as keynote speaker for a local business meeting next week.
Foley will speak at a breakfast meeting for CSRA Home Connections, a division of CENTURY 21 Larry Miller Realty, on Wednesday, March 9 at the Snelling Conference Center, 3165 Washington Road, Suite D in Augusta. The program begins at 8:30 a.m. CSRA Home Connections maintains a local directory of home services providers.
Foley, who now serves as President and founder of Loral Mountain Solutions, LLC, a leadership coaching company, is thinking about what he wants to share in his 20-minute speech. But Foley listed two topics he will definitely address: Fort Gordon and his book.
“I owe it to people to give them an update on Fort Gordon,” he said.
Foley said he also plans to talk about his 2019 book, “BRAVE Business Leadership: Grow Competent, Confident Leaders and Get Great Results.” He’ll have copies of the book to sell after the event. He also co-wrote the book, “Rules and Tools for Leaders.”
Foley said there’s one topic he won’t discuss at length: the Russian invasion of the Ukraine. While some may ask him for his thoughts on the situation, Foley doesn’t feel like he has the knowledge and expertise to provide much information about the topic.
Another topic he won’t cover is how he thinks the invasion will affect U.S. businesses.
“I don’t think I have the credibility to speak on that topic,” Foley said.
