Former restaurant franchisee launches new brand

The former operator of the Pot Smoker on Highway 25 in North Augusta will be offering up similar food under a new brand.

Robert Whitfield announced on Facebook over the weekend that he’ll be starting with a Parker’s Brisket, Ribs, and More food truck with plans to open a brick-and-mortar restaurant in Wrens.

His menu includes BBQ chicken, pork, brisket, and whole chicken. Southern staples are featured on the sides menu such as macaroni and cheese, hash n rice, potato salad, and coleslaw along with baked beans, red beans and rice, and green beans.

Visit www.parkersmeathouse.com for updates on where the truck will be, catering, and efforts to open the Wrens Restaurant.

The franchisor of Pot Smoker in North Augusta is handling the 4th of July BBQ pre-orders from his Aiken store. Call 803-226-0941 to place them.

Last week, founder, Bobby Boggs also posted an update on the store’s FB page that they are expecting a grand re-opening in the fall.

Boggs and Whitfield parted ways in the Spring and Boggs is looking for a new franchisee.
