Free Access: New year, new leads with Google AdWords

We just took on a project for a local business who is interested in generating more leads through Google AdWords. Their goal is to create more leads to share their services with all companies, but specifically those in the medical and government fields.

How to accomplish that goal?

1. Create a Google Ads account and sign in. Get the lay of the land on where features are located and how to access them. We will talk through this in the next article.

2. Complete your keyword research. Finding the right words to reach your audience is an essential part of any digital marketing strategy. It is important you identify what your potential customers are seeking online. By optimizing your website content and ad campaigns with the same keywords as your ad campaign, you can ensure your business is more visible and easier to find online.

3. Set up your first campaign. This is where all the magic comes together. Here, you will see how to select campaign types, create ad groups and ads, and set your budget strategy and amount.

4. Change your keyword types and other items (like negative keywords). Incorporating negative keywords into your Google Ads is crucial as it prevents your ads from appearing in irrelevant searches. Negative keywords are words or phrases you mark as “negative” to ensure that your ad won’t be triggered when someone types them in.

5. Create Ad Extensions. Google ad extensions are a great way to enhance your Google Ads (formerly Google AdWords) campaigns. They provide you with extra options, such as additional links, phone numbers, location information, and more, so you can get the most out of your ads. Plus, they make your ads look and work better!

6. Launch your campaign and complete A-B testing. Testing A versus B gives you the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of how customers really behave and determine how they feel about prices, what improvements they would like to see, how much risk they’ll take, and how important quality is to them.

7. Monitor your campaign and quality score regularly. Having a high Google Quality Score is beneficial for your ad rank and how much you pay for each click. Basically, it is about how related your keywords, ads and landing page are to each other. A higher Quality Score means a higher place on the search screen – it’s easy to understand and great for your success.

Implementing a Google AdWords campaign correctly can bring immense success to your organization. It is the most effective way to reach out to millions of internet users. Your virtual online company is always at work for you – open 24/7, 365 days a year, giving you an advantage and amplifying your reach.

As we work through each of these steps, we will provide you with insights and anecdotes of how some of our customers are working through learning Google Ads. Embrace Google and make it the cornerstone of success!

So What Does it All Mean?

Google, for now, is still the preeminent online source for leads. Take advantage of “the Google” while you still can.
