GreenJackets install cashless payment system

When you attend an Augusta GreenJackets game this season, you won’t have to stuff your wallet full of bills. The GreenJackets are going cashless.

Instead of using cash, you’ll be able to pay for items like items from the gift shop and concessions with all major credit cards, debit cards, and phone cash apps like Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay. The cashless system will be used throughout the stadium and the parking decks.

The decision to go cashless was made to provide faster service.

According to a news release, “This wasn’t an easy decision for GreenJackets’ Management, but as we look at our fan experience and in order to make sure we can streamline our fans concessions, parking and retail experience, the timing was right for this decision. Cashless operations are both faster for guests and keep inflationary controls in place that better serve our customers. In other words, this will speed up lines and slow down ‘inflation creep’ at SRP Park.”

In addition to the cashless system, the GreenJackets will also again offer mobile ordering of concessions for those seated in the lower bowl area of the stadium.

SRP Park’s cashless payment system will go into effect for the March 7 game between the University of Georgia and Georgia Southern University.

If you happen to bring cash, there is still an option: Convert the cash to the money value which will be added to the digital ticket. That can then be used to purchase items at the concession stands and the gift shop. Conversion locations are available at the SRP Box Office and in The Hive gift shop.

Cash will still be accepted at the SRP Park Box Office and with third-party vendors.

The cashless system will go into effect at the March 7 game between the University of Georgia and Georgia Southern University.

The GreenJackets, the Minor League A-level affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, begin their season on April 6 at Columbia. The first home game will be on April 11 versus Down East.
