That great chili recipe you’ve carefully crafted over the years could garner some cash – not to mention bragging rights – at the Augusta GreenJackets’ Beans & Brews Chili Cook-Off.
The Cook-Off is scheduled for 1-5 p.m. on Nov. 13 at SRP Park in North Augusta. The contest is open to individuals, corporate collaborations, and professionals. Or if you simply want to sample some interesting chili, tickets are on sale now to taste-test the offerings of up to five contestants.
This new event at SRP Park has been revamped from the previous World Series Chili Cook-Off event that took place in 2017 at Lake Olmsted Stadium.
“We’re always looking for new and exciting events to bring to SRP Park,” GreenJackets General Manager, Brandon Greene said. “With the success from our previous Chili Cook-Off at Lake Olmsted, it made sense to revamp it at SRP Park.”

The Beans & Brews Chili Cook-Off combines live music, great chili, local brews, and food trucks. Kids 12 and under can enjoy a selection of inflatables.
Chili will be judged by the following criteria: Aroma, Appearance, Consistency, and Taste. All entry fees will be donated to a CSRA non-profit.
The registration deadline for contestants to enter is Oct. 28. Entry fees are $30 for individuals, $40 for a corporate team, and $60 for professionals. Each team is responsible for its own supplies and equipment and must produce five gallons of chili for sampling purposes.

Tickets to attend the event are on sale now at GreenJacketsBaseball.com. Tickets for ages 4 and older are $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the event. Each ticket allows five chili-tasting samples.
