Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee returns to North Augusta this weekend

After two years of covid-related shutdowns, North Augusta’s annual Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee is back this week. Headlining the event is a free concert by Grammy-nominated country singer, Joe Nichols.

The city’s 36th annual Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee will be held on Georgia Avenue in North Augusta, Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. In 2020 and 2021, the event was canceled due to Covid.

Sponsors include Communigraphics, the Augusta GreenJackets, and SouthState Bank.

“The Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee has been the flagship event for the City of North Augusta for many years, and its absence since 2019 has been felt in our community,” said North Augusta’s Director of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism, Rick Meyer. “If history holds true, and the weather is good, we would expect a crowd estimate to be in the 15,000-20,000 range.”

Meyer said because the event is returning this year, the city decided to add a concert tonight by MacKenzie Blake at 8 p.m. and another by Easily Amused tomorrow night at 9 p.m. These concerts will be held at the Sharon Jones Amphitheater located at 1009 Center St. in Riverside Village near SRP Park.

Besides live music on multiple stages, Meyer said the event will also include 130 craft vendors and more than 20 food vendors, as well as amusement rides, games, and a kids’ costume contest. This year’s vendors include Nothing Bundt Cakes, Premier Martial Arts, and Southern Siding & Window Company.
