A restaurateur will open one last time today at her kitchen in Martinez.
She was a one-woman multitasker at the helm of the café.
Angie Hood from Angie’s Kitchen (pictured above) was the marketer, cook, and waitress/customer service person at her restaurant, which opened in November of 2025.
She was known for her catchy, daily specials she posted on Facebook and other social media channels.
“With a very heavy heart, we have made the difficult decision to close the storefront location of Angie’s Kitchen, “ Angie wrote in a Facebook announcement. “To those who supported us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we did not receive enough support to keep our storefront doors open.”
Angie’s Kitchen will continue to operate her catering business from home to serve the community.
This is the second take-out café to close at this location on Washington Road and Davis Road across from McDonald’s.
Canales Deli was in the same location and closed in August 2025 after a short time, despite a 5 star google rating.
There is a question as to how difficult it is to get in and out of the parking lot of the strip center.
