An Augusta area financial expert says just 7% of your companies’ vendors and lenders report to the credit bureaus.
“No one reports automatically, and you must register your business at the three business credit bureaus to even get a score; it doesn’t just magically appear,” said Regional Managing Partner, Alan Mosher of the J. Galt Finance Suite.
He is taking reservations for a free webinar scheduled for next Thursday, February 2.
In the seminar, businesses will learn a 7-step process for building credit, starting with the very basics of how to structure their business so that it appears credible and fundable. For example, having a Gmail or Yahoo email address is an almost automatic denial as is using your personal cell phone number as your business phone number.
Mosher will share how to create accounts with the three bureaus, how to gradually grow your credit score until it is robust enough to qualify for lines of credit that allow you to pay off those personal loans and guarantees, and how to establish sufficient business credit to fund it purely with your EIN number, usually at significantly lower rates than using personal credit.

“It’s our mission to help small business owners protect their personal assets while building their business credit and capital so they have the ability to grow and scale their businesses in the way they have always dreamed,” Mosher added.
