Local IT company donates $2,500 to Augusta medical nonprofit

Christ Community Health provides medical services for uninsured and underinsured patients, and many of these patients don’t have reliable transportation. But a donation from a locally managed IT company will help them get the care they need.

IntelliSystems, which offers its clients a variety of services, including cybersecurity, IT consulting and telecommunications, has donated $2,500 to Christ Community Health, a local non-profit organization, to provide transportation for its patients.

“We are honored to facilitate transportation for people who desperately need medical and dental care, but are challenged by transportation reliability issues,” said IntelliSystems President and CEO, Kevin Wade. “Christ Community Health has a mission we wholeheartedly support.”

Founded in 2007, Christ Community relies on financial contributions from businesses, like IntelliSystems, that support its initiatives, such as the opening of its new Children’s Clinic located at 1238 D’Antignac St. in downtown Augusta.

“We’ve always offered pediatric care, but there is a need that can’t be met in our current clinic space,” said the nonprofit’s CEO, Don Branum. “This children’s clinic will significantly expand our capacity. We’re excited about taking care of even more families in the Augusta area.”

Christ Community has multiple locations throughout the CSRA, including Telfair Street in downtown Augusta and Peach Orchard Road in south Augusta. Patients can apply for discounted fees that are charged on a sliding scale based on household income.

Wade believes in giving back to the community that has supported IntelliSystems over the last 30 years.

“As we have been blessed, we believe it is our duty to bless others,” he said.
