Local IT company makes $2 million investment in new west Augusta location

Next week, an Augusta-based business information technology company will celebrate the grand opening of its new location in west Augusta.

IntelliSystems, which provides a variety of services for its clients, including telecommunications, cybersecurity, and security camera systems, is relocating from 1115 Greene St. in downtown Augusta to a newly renovated and updated building located at 3687 Wheeler Road near Doctors Hospital.

The building was previously occupied by two other companies: John Deere and Medac.

IntelliSystems will hold an invitation-only, drop-in celebration on Wednesday, June 15 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event will include food, music, guided tours of the facility, and ribbon-cutting ceremonies held by the Columbia County and Augusta Metro Chambers of Commerce.

“We have grown our staff to the point where we need much more interior space and additional parking,” said President and CEO, Kevin Wade who founded the company in 1993. “We felt a technology firm should embody the very latest in ‘smart building’ advancements, so our Augusta headquarters could serve as a ‘living tech lab’ to demonstrate just how effective, functional, efficient, and comfortable tomorrow’s technology could actually be.”

These advancements include solar power, electronic sound masking, and a Voice over IP phone system. RW Allen Construction completed the renovation project.

Besides Augusta, IntelliSystems has offices in Columbia, Macon, and Savannah. For more information, visit intellisystems.com.
